SACO, Maine (AUGUST 08, 2013) — Denise Nickerson, AVP and Loan Officer for Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution (SBSI) was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the Maine Association of Mortgage Professionals (MAMP) for a 3 year term.
The Maine Association of Mortgage Professionals, founded in 1958 as one of the oldest associations in Maine, is recognized as the leader in the mortgage industry by providing its members with the latest updates from both Washington DC and Augusta that impact the industry. The Association also provides education to its members and supports enhancing property ownership opportunities for the people of Maine.
Nickerson has 13 years of experience in lending and was chosen to serve on the board with eleven other members due to her established professional reputation within the industry.
“The pace of change in our industry is daunting with new regulations and a challenging economy. It is an honor to serve on this board and to contribute to the conversation around mortgage banking around the state,” said Nickerson.
Nickerson, a 5-year SBSI employee, studied at the University of Southern Maine and holds numerous diplomas from the Northern New England Center for Financial Training, including General Banking, Bank and Finance, Bank Operations, Consumer Lending and Mortgage Lending. She is an active member of the community volunteering for the Saco Community Meals Program and United Way of York County; and, resides in Arundel with her family.
