Fifth Annual Honduran Rooster Run 5K Road Race
A 5K race is not only fun but an innovative way to increase awareness to the community that surrounds the founder, Sharon Beckwith of Daisy’s Children, about the poverty that engulfs the children and their families in the village of Concepcion Del Norte, Honduras. Sharon (a Local Kindergarten Teacher) set out this summer for several weeks to continue the work of this program.
When Sharon returns from Honduras, much work begins here in the US on the Fifth Annual Honduran Rooster Run 5K road race scheduled for Saturday, Aug 17th, 2013 in the Village of North Berwick, Maine! Stepping all the way from the village of poverty, into the village of North Berwick, Maine is leaps and bounds from life in Honduras, but Sharon does all of this for the children with unwavering commitment!
