Norway, Maine – Saturday, July 20th Western Maine Cash Mob, organized by W.J. Wheeler Insurance Agency, met at the Norway Municipal Parking Lot behind Fare Share. A total of 66 mobbers anxiously waited to hear where they would be shopping. Armed with their $20 bills they all mobbed The Norway Opera House stores which included Gatherings, The Raven Collection, Fiber & Vine and Rough & Tumble.
The mobbers spent a total of $1300 dollars at the four stores, helping stimulate the local economy while having a blast with other community members. Not only does the Cash Mob help the business being mobbed that one time but it also introduces new people that may have never gone to those stores before and will hopefully return again.
Afterward, everyone gathered in the courtyard across the street from The Norway Opera House for the After Mob Party, where they enjoyed maple scones, bagels with cream cheese and caprese skewers made by Cafe Nomad and generously donated by W.J. Wheeler Insurance Agency. Door prizes were awarded including gift certificates from Maine C&C Farm, Books N’ Things and Captain Bly’s. Casco Candles, one of the Cash Mob 2013 sponsors, donated a one of their candles for a fun prize. Oxford Federal Credit Union gave several Coolers. Finally, what some may consider to be the grand prize, Everett Propane donated a filled propane grilling tank!
