Verrill Dana Litigators Recognized in Benchmark Litigation 2013 Edition

Portland, Maine (9-13-2013) Four Verrill Dana attorneys have been recognized for their skill as litigators in Benchmark Litigation’s 2013 edition. Charles P. Bacall has been recognized as a “Local Litigation Star” for Intellectual Property in the Maine, Plaintiff category. Charlie’s practice centers on the fields of trademark and copyright law, Charlie assists businesses (including many brand owners with international trademark portfolios) with the selection, screening, registration, licensing and enforcement of marks and other work product. Due to his familiarity with both intellectual property and business law, he often serves in an outside general counsel role to companies that rely on intellectual property for their competitive advantage.

Chris A. Caseiro has been recognized as a “Local Litigation Star” for Intellectual Property in the Maine, Plaintiff category. Chris represents individuals and companies in establishing, evaluating, maintaining, licensing and enforcing patent rights in inventions in a variety of technical fields. He received his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from the University of Connecticut in 1981 and his J.D. from Franklin Pierce Law Center in 1991.

Karen Frink Wolf has been recognized as a “Local Litigation Star” for General Commercial and Professional Liability in the Maine category. She has also been recognized as one of Benchmark Litigation’s “Top 250 Women in Litigation” (a national recognition) for the second consecutive year. Karen often serves as litigation counsel for physicians, hospitals and health care professionals at panel hearings, board reviews and trial, and as defense counsel for pharmaceutical companies in drug and device litigation. Karen also maintains a high stakes domestic relations practice, and is in high demand as a mediator, referee and arbitrator in this area.

James G. Goggin has been recognized as a “Local Litigation Star” for Intellectual Property in both the Maine, and Maine, Plaintiff categories. Jim has over 25 years of experience litigating nationwide in the intellectual property area, including trademark, broadcast licensing fee agreements, copyright infringements, trade secrets and patent litigation. Jim has handled patent cases in technologies as diverse as medical devices, internet browsers and applications, computer networks, radio devices and biometric payments in federal courts in Maine, Delaware, Maryland, Colorado and Texas.
