Westbrook, Maine (August 28, 2013) – Chef James Tranchemontagne, owner of The Frog and Turtle, and a tireless advocate for all kids, especially those at risk, will kick off his annual “Cooking for the Kids” fundraising campaign September 1 to help support My Place Teen Center (MPTC): a no barrier, after-school program that provides hot meals and hope to area youth.

As he has in the past, Tranchemontagne will open his restaurant and once again sell “Cooking for the Kids” tickets. Tickets, which go on sale September 1, cost $300 and entitle the buyer to a four-course dinner for four with wine pairings. All menus are customized to the buyer’s desire and tickets can be redeemed any night of the week, except Friday.

100% of each ticket’s purchase price will be donated to the teen center. In the past, his servers have also donated their tips.

“My team and I are proud to help My Place Teen Center continue to provide a safe after-school haven for kids,” Tranchemontagne said, “As a local business owner, I’m happy to be a part of this great community, to give back and to help however I can, especially when young people are in need.”

To date, Tranchemontage and his team have raised a total of $30,000, through a variety of on-site benefits, for MPTC. They hope that “Cooking for the Kids” will help them raise an additional $5,000.

“We know My Place lost $70,000 in state and local funding this year,” Tranchemontagne said, “So, anything we can do to help them work toward closing that gap would be fantastic!”

For more information, or to purchase tickets, contact: James@thefrogandturtle.com, or call The Frog & Turtle (207-591-4185) between 11am and 3pm.
